What are the special features of a panda?

Black and white fur: The giant panda's iconic 黑白毛皮 distinguishes it from other bear species. The black fur insulates the panda in the cold mountainous regions where it lives.

Round face and large eyes: Pandas have round, wide faces with prominent black eye patches and white fur surrounding their eyes. Their eyes are small, dark, and deeply set, providing them with excellent vision in low-light conditions.

Robust body: Pandas have powerful bodies with broad shoulders and strong limbs. Their legs are short, and their feet have five toes, each with a semi-retractable claw. This helps them with grasping bamboo stalks.

Large molars: The panda's diet primarily consists of bamboo, which is a fibrous and tough plant. To process this diet effectively, pandas have large molars with wide grinding surfaces. They use these teeth to crush and grind the bamboo into small pieces.

False thumb: One unique feature of the giant panda is its "false thumb." It is an enlarged bone on the panda's wrist, formed by the fusion of the radial sesamoid bone with the carpal bone. This pseudo-thumb helps the panda grip bamboo stalks more firmly.

Tail: Pandas have a relatively short, bushy tail, measuring around 10 to 15 centimeters (4 to 6 inches) long. It is dark in color and plays a role in communication, defense, and balance.
