Where are dingoes on the food chain?

Dingoes are apex predators in the Australian ecosystem. This means they sit at the top of the food chain and have no natural predators.

Here's a simplified food chain showing the dingo's place:

* Producers: Plants, grasses, etc.

* Primary Consumers: Herbivores like kangaroos, wallabies, and rodents

* Secondary Consumers: Dingoes (and other predators like eagles)

* Apex Predator: Dingoes

While dingoes can be preyed upon by crocodiles in some areas, they are generally not considered to be a major threat to the dingo population.
