What is teremycin?

Teremycin is the trade name for the antibiotic tetracycline produced by the American company Pfizer Corporation. Introduced in 1950, Tetracycline (also commonly written Tetracyclin) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic drug in the tetracycline family. It was developed from Streptomyces aureofaciens by Lloyd Conover from Lederle Laboratories in 1950 and came into public use soon after in 1953 to combat bacterial infections.
