When is it to late have a tail bobbed and dewclaws removed?

Tail Bobbing

While there is no specific age cut off for when a dog's tail can no longer be docked it is strongly recommended to have the procedure performed as early as possible. This is usually done within the first few days of a puppy's life, before they are released to their new homes. Docking a tail later in life can be more traumatic for a dog and may require more extensive surgery and recovery.

Dewclaw Removal

Dewclaws are extra claws that are located on the inside of the dog's front legs and sometimes on the back legs. They serve no real purpose and can often be caught on things, causing injury and discomfort. Dewclaws can be removed at any age but it is generally recommended to have them removed while a puppy is still young, before they have a chance to become problematic.
