Here's why:
* Antarctica is a continent without native land mammals. The only mammals found there are seals, penguins, and whales, which spend most of their time in the surrounding ocean.
* Foxes are terrestrial mammals. They need land to survive and cannot live in the harsh conditions of Antarctica.
* The closest relative to the fox that lives in the southern hemisphere is the Falkland Islands wolf (also known as the warrah). However, this species is extinct.
While there are white foxes in the Arctic, they are adapted to the cold and snowy environments of the north, not the icy landscapes of Antarctica.
