How big do foxes get?

Foxes come in a range of sizes, depending on the species. The largest fox species is the red fox (Vulpes vulpes), which can reach a length of 90–125 centimetres (35–49 inches), stand 35–50 centimetres (14–20 inches) at the shoulder, and weigh up to 14 kilograms (31 pounds). The smallest fox species is the fennec fox (Vulpes zerda), which reaches a length of 35–41 centimetres (14–16 inches), stands 20–25 centimetres (8–10 inches) at the shoulder, and weighs up to 1.5 kilograms (3.3 pounds).
