Why does fire keep predators away?

While a large, raging forest fire may deter some predators due to the immediate danger it poses, fire is not a reliable or effective means of keeping predators away in the long term. Many predators are adept at adapting to changing environments and may even be drawn to the aftermath of a fire, where they can take advantage of the displaced or injured prey. Additionally, using fire to deter predators can have serious environmental consequences, potentially harming ecosystems and further endangering native wildlife.
