Where does a gray fox live?

The gray fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus) is found in North America, ranging from southern Canada to northern Venezuela. It inhabits a variety of habitats, including forests, woodlands, grasslands, and deserts. They prefer areas with dense cover, such as thickets, brush, and rocky outcrops, where they can find shelter from predators and build their dens. Gray foxes are also often found near water sources, such as rivers, streams, and lakes.
