Is the coral sea and reef same thing?
The Coral Sea and coral reefs are related but not the same thing. The Coral Sea is a body of water located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. It is bordered by Australia, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia. The Coral Sea is home to many coral reefs, but it is not the only place in the world where coral reefs can be found. Coral reefs are underwater ecosystems composed primarily of corals, which are marine invertebrates that secrete a hard exoskeleton. Coral reefs are important for many reasons, including providing food and shelter for a diverse array of marine life, protecting coastlines from erosion, and attracting tourism.
