Where do cougars live when its cold?

Cougars are very adaptable animals and don't migrate like some other species. They have a wide range of habitats and can survive in both cold and warm climates.

Here's how they handle the cold:

* They have a thick coat: Their fur provides excellent insulation, keeping them warm in freezing temperatures.

* They have a high body fat percentage: This helps them to maintain their body temperature even in cold conditions.

* They seek shelter: Cougars will find shelter in caves, rock crevices, or dense thickets to escape the harshest weather.

* They become more active: When it's cold, they might hunt more frequently to maintain their energy levels.

Essentially, cougars don't "go" anywhere specifically for cold weather. They stay in their established territories and adapt to the colder temperatures.
