What is the survival status of llamas?

Llamas are considered Least Concern on the IUCN Red List. This means that they are not currently threatened with extinction.

While their populations have declined due to historical overhunting and habitat loss, they are now relatively abundant in their native range in the Andes Mountains of South America.

Llamas are also domesticated and raised for their wool, meat, and as pack animals, which further contributes to their survival.
