What do new world monkeys eat?

Leaves: Leaves make up a large part of new world monkeys' diets. They eat leaves of trees, herbs, and shrubs, and choose immature leaves that are low in fiber and high in nutrients.

Fruits: New world monkeys also eat a variety of fruits, such as bananas, berries, nuts, and seeds. Fruits provide them with vitamins, minerals, and energy.

Insects: Insects also form part of new world monkeys' diet, especially during the dry season when other food is scarce. They eat ants, termites, beetles, crickets, and caterpillars.

Other plant material: New world monkeys also eat other plant material like flowers, stems, buds, and roots. These provide them with additional nutrients.

Animals: Some new world monkeys also supplement their diet with small animals, such as birds, lizards, frogs, and even small mammals.
