This is the uppermost layer of the rainforest, where the branches of tall trees form a dense, leafy roof. The canopy is a rich and diverse habitat, providing monkeys with:
* Food: Fruits, leaves, insects, and other small animals
* Shelter: Protection from rain, wind, and predators
* Space: Room to move around and socialize
While some monkeys may venture into the lower layers (understory) or even the forest floor, the canopy is their primary home.
