Is the gorilla king of jungle?

The gorilla is not the king of the jungle. Although gorillas are impressive and powerful animals, the title of "king of the jungle" is often erroneously attributed to lions. Lions rule and dominate grasslands and open woodlands of Africa rather than the jungle environment typically associated with gorillas. Despite misconceptions, neither species reigns over all animals or holds a symbolic kingship over their habitats.
