Little study has been conducted regarding the lifespan of the owl monkey in its natural habitat. The only recorded data is that regarding a single male specimen of the Aotus azarae species, which is known to have lived for 11 years in the wild.

How Long Do Owl Monkeys Live in Captivity?
The owl monkey is a type of New World primate including all 10 species of the genus Aotus, which are grouped into gray-necked and red-necked categories. The only nocturnal monkey, owl monkeys are most easily recognized by their large, round eyes.
