Are the young spider monkey born in a special place?

Spider monkeys give birth to a single infant after a gestation period of about 230 days. The newborn spider monkey is born with a full coat of fur and its eyes are open. The infant is born in a special place, called a "nest," which is made of leaves and twigs. The mother spider monkey will carry the infant on her back for the first few weeks of life.
