How many babies will a gorilla have?
Gorillas usually give birth to a single infant every three to five years. Twins are extremely rare, occurring only about 1% of the time. The female gorilla will carry her infant for around eight months before giving birth. Newborns weigh between three and five pounds and are completely dependent on their mothers for the first few months of life. The infant gorilla will stay close to its mother and nurse for up to three years.
