I have a Large opossum in my yard do they nest the ground?

Opossums do nest on the ground. They are primarily ground-dwelling animals and prefer to build their nests in sheltered locations such as:

* Underneath sheds, decks, or porches: These offer protection from the elements and potential predators.

* Dense thickets or brush piles: This provides natural camouflage and cover.

* Hollow logs or tree roots: They often use these for shelter and nesting.

* Abandoned burrows: They may utilize burrows made by other animals.

While they may occasionally use tree cavities for nesting, it's much less common than ground-based locations.

If you have a large opossum in your yard, it's likely using one of these ground-level locations for its nest.
