Can opossums eat Fruit Loops cereal?

While opossums are omnivores and will eat a variety of things, Fruit Loops are not a good food for them.

Here's why:

* High sugar content: Fruit Loops are extremely sugary, and too much sugar can lead to health problems like obesity and diabetes in opossums.

* Artificial ingredients: They contain artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives that are not natural to an opossum's diet and could be harmful.

* Lack of nutritional value: Fruit Loops offer little to no nutritional value compared to an opossum's natural food sources like insects, fruits, and vegetables.

Instead of giving your opossum Fruit Loops, provide them with a diet of their natural foods:

* Fruits: Berries, apples, melons

* Vegetables: Greens, carrots, sweet potatoes

* Insects: Crickets, mealworms, grasshoppers

* Meat: Small rodents, birds (in moderation)

If you find an opossum, it's best to leave it alone unless it appears injured or distressed. Contact your local animal control or wildlife rehabilitation center for assistance.
