Why do people kill ostriches?
Ostrich meat and eggs are considered a delicacy in some parts of the world, and so ostriches are hunted and killed for their meat and eggs. Ostriches are also hunted and killed for their feathers, which are used in making feather dusters and other decorative items. Ostrich leathers can be used to make belts, bags, purses and shoes. Finally, ostriches are also killed in order to control their population in certain areas where they may become a nuisance or a threat to human livelihoods.
