Instructions
Give your opossums raw vegetables. Purchase fresh or frozen vegetables. Include about three or four varieties to get a range of colors, textures and flavors.
Supply fish, chicken and turkey. These lean meats provide an excellent source of protein. Remove any bones so your opossums won't choke or harm their digestive tracts.
Add whole grains. For example, give your opossums minimally processed breads, oats and rice.
Include dairy products. These provide your opossums with needed calcium for strong bones and teeth. Good sources include low fat cheese, yogurt and eggs.
Supplement with fruits, berries, nuts and seeds. Give your opossums the fruit and berries about twice a week to provide vitamins and roughage. The nuts and seeds furnish protein and oil essential for a healthy coat.
Maintain a water bowl. Just like you, opossums want plenty of clean, fresh water. So keep the bowl full and replace the water daily.
Provide your opossums with earthy treats. They like leaves, insects, crickets, worms, slugs, small snakes and mice. Obtain these from your yard or a bait or pet store.
