Large plecos need plenty of food. They are mostly herbivorous, so feed them a diet rich in vegetables, such as zucchini, cucumber, and carrots. You can also feed them commercial pleco food, pellets, or algae wafers.
Large plecos need clean water. Perform regular water changes, and ensure the water is well-oxygenated.
Provide plenty of hiding places. Plecos are shy and need places to hide when stressed. You can provide hiding places using driftwood, rocks, or commercial ornaments.
Be patient. Plecos grow slowly, so it may take several years for them to reach their full size.
