DO:
* Run, but don't run in a straight line. Zigzag, make sharp turns, and try to throw the tiger off your scent.
* Climb a tree. Tigers can climb, but they're not as agile as smaller cats. Choose a tall tree with thick branches.
* Use anything as a weapon. Sticks, rocks, anything you can find. Aim for the tiger's eyes or nose.
* Make yourself appear large. Spread your arms and coat, shout loudly, and try to look as intimidating as possible.
* Fight back. If cornered, fight back with all your strength. A determined victim can sometimes scare a tiger off.
DON'T:
* Turn your back and run. Tigers are incredibly fast and can easily catch you.
* Freeze. This will make you an easy target.
* Try to outrun a tiger. They are much faster than humans.
* Offer food or water. This will only make the tiger more likely to approach you.
* Get in the water. Tigers are strong swimmers.
Remember:
* Tigers are apex predators and are incredibly powerful. It's best to avoid them at all costs.
* If you are in an area where tigers are known to live, be aware of your surroundings. Stay in groups, make noise, and avoid venturing off the trail.
* If you encounter a tiger, do your best to stay calm and try to find a way to escape.
Most importantly, stay alert, be aware of your surroundings, and never underestimate the power of a tiger.
