How do you know if the cougar is endangered?
The cougar is not endangered. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the cougar is listed as Least Concern. This means that the cougar has a wide distribution and a large population, and is not at risk of extinction. However, some subspecies of cougars are listed as Near Threatened or Vulnerable, such as the Florida panther and the Vancouver Island cougar.
