Dominant and recessive traits of white tigers?
White tigers have a rare recessive trait that causes their white fur. Dominant traits are the opposite of recessive traits. When an individual has two dominant alleles for a trait, they will display that trait. When an individual has one dominant allele and one recessive allele for a trait, they will still display the dominant trait. However, if an individual has two recessive alleles for a trait, they will display the recessive trait. In the case of white tigers, the white fur color is recessive to the orange fur color. This means that a white tiger must have two copies of the recessive allele for white fur in order to display the white fur color. If a white tiger has one copy of the recessive allele and one copy of the dominant allele, they will have orange fur.
