How many egg cells do tigers produce at once?

Tigers, like all female mammals, are born with a finite number of egg cells. These egg cells are stored in the ovaries. The number of egg cells varies between species, and in tigers, they are estimated to have around 100,000 egg cells at birth.

However, not all of these egg cells will develop into mature eggs. During each estrous cycle, only a few egg cells will mature and be released from the ovaries. This process is called ovulation. In tigers, ovulation typically occurs every 18 to 26 days.

So, while tigers are born with a large number of egg cells, only a small number of these will actually be released and have the potential to be fertilized.
