How big is a full grown bat?

Bats can vary dramatically in size, depending on the species. The smallest bat in the world is the bumblebee bat, which measures only 2.9-3.3 cm (1.1-1.3 in) in length and weighs 2-2.5 g (0.07-0.08 oz). The largest bat is the giant golden-crowned flying fox, which can measure up to 1.8 m (5.9 ft) in wingspan and weigh up to 1.6 kg (3.5 lb). Most bat species, however, are much smaller, with an average wingspan of around 25-30 cm (9.8-11.8 in) and an average weight of around 10-15 g (0.35-0.5 oz).
