How much of the Bengal tiger population decreased?
According to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) report, the Bengal tiger population has suffered a rapid decline over the past century, going from an estimated 100,000 individuals in the early 1900s to around 2,500 in the 2010s. This decline, around 98%, has been primarily attributed to human activities such as poaching and habitat loss due to deforestation, infrastructure development, and human encroachment.
