How big were the saber tigers teeth?
The saber-toothed cats (Smilodon) possessed some of the longest canine teeth of any mammal. The upper canines of Smilodon populator, the largest species of the genus, could grow up to 28 centimeters (11 inches) long. These massive teeth were used for hunting and killing prey, such as mammoths, mastodons, and giant ground sloths.
