Is a tiger bigger than saber-toothed?
Saber-toothed cats were actually larger than modern-day tigers. The largest saber-toothed cat, Smilodon populator, was about 2.5 m (8 ft) long, 1.2 m (4 ft) tall at the shoulder, and weighed about 280 kg (620 lb). This is larger than the largest modern tiger, the Siberian tiger, which is about 2.7 m (9 ft) long, 1 m (3 ft) tall at the shoulder, and weighs about 306 kg (675 lb).
