Do cheetahs make any special sounds?
Cheetahs produce an array of vocalizations, including chirps, chirruping sounds, and even purrs. Chirping is the most frequent sound a cheetah makes and it usually denotes contentment, greeting, and affection; often exchanged between a mother cheetah and her cubs or between bonded adult cheetahs. Chirruping sounds, on the other hand, have a more urgent tone, and are used for communication between adult cheetahs when hunting, defending territory, and during aggressive encounters. Purring is a sound cheetahs make when content and happy, similar to cats, but it's not as common. In short, cheetahs do produce specific sounds to express different emotions and communicate with each other.
