Where does palominos originally come from?

Palominos originated from Spain, where they were called "golden horses" or "golden-bay horses." The breed was developed by Spanish monks in the 16th century by crossing Spanish horses with Arabian horses. Palominos were then brought to the Americas by Spanish explorers and colonists, where they became popular as all-around horses for ranch work, pleasure riding, and show competitions.
