- Alpha Pair: The alpha pair is the breeding pair of wolves that lead the pack. They have the highest social status and are responsible for asserting dominance over the rest of the pack, leading hunts, and deciding when and where to move.
- Beta Wolves: Beta wolves are subordinate to the alpha pair, but are higher in rank than the rest of the pack. They often act as the alpha pair's right-hand wolves, helping to maintain social order and defend the territory.
- Mid-Ranking Wolves: Mid-ranking wolves are typically related to the alpha pair or other high-ranking wolves and are generally subservient to them but dominant over lower-ranking wolves. They often help with hunting and caring for pups.
- Omega Wolves: Omega wolves are the lowest ranking individuals in a wolf pack. They are typically submissive to all other members of the pack and may be subjected to bullying and harassment. Despite their low social status, omega wolves can play an important role in maintaining social cohesion by helping to defuse tensions within the pack.
- Non-breeding Wolves: Non-breeding wolves are individuals who have yet to find a mate or establish a place in the pack's social hierarchy. They may be subordinate to all or most of the other members of the pack and may be the first to leave the pack to try and establish their own territory.
