What kind of wolf lives in the taiga?

The most common wolf species found in the taiga is the gray wolf (Canis lupus).

While other wolf subspecies exist, the gray wolf is particularly well-adapted to the harsh conditions of the taiga, which is a cold, coniferous forest biome. They have thick fur for insulation, strong legs for navigating snow and ice, and are excellent hunters of large prey like moose and caribou, which are abundant in the taiga.
