Do gray wolves live in Houston Texas?
Gray wolves (Canis lupus) are not native to Houston, Texas, and their presence there is highly unlikely. The gray wolf's natural range historically included much of North America, Europe, and Asia, but populations have declined significantly due to habitat loss, hunting, and persecution. Today, gray wolves are found in remote regions of the northern United States, Canada, Alaska, and parts of Mexico. The closest populations of gray wolves to Houston are in the western United States, particularly in the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Northwest.
