Why does the female lion do hunting?

Female lions do most of the pride's hunting because they are typically more agile and successful hunters than males. While male lions are usually responsible for protecting the pride's territory, females are responsible for providing their cubs and other members of the pride with food. Lionesses use their incredible strength and stealth to bring down prey, which are essential for the survival of the entire pride.
