How heavy are the coats of huskies?

Huskies have a double coat that weighs about 1 to 2 pounds. The inner layer is made up of soft fur that keeps them warm in cold weather, while the outer layer is made of longer, coarser fur that protects them from the elements. Huskies can change the thickness of their coat depending on the season. In the summer, they shed their undercoat to stay cooler, while in the winter, they grow it back to keep warm.
