Sign petitions. The Defenders of Wildlife group now has a campaign devoted to the ceasing of hunting from the air in Alaska, promoting the 1971 Airborne Hunting act, which disallows the shooting of wildlife. There is a petition available on their website that is to be sent to President Barack Obama upon completion. The fields on the form require your name, e-mail and home address. The form also allows you to personalize a message about the wolves. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) also has a petition available on their website opposing the aerial hunting of Alaskan wolves.
Make a donation. The Wildlife Guardians have opened a donation form on their website for you to donate an unlimited amount of money to their organization, which will go towards helping "imperiled wildlife" and more specifically Alaskan wolves. The Defenders of Wildlife also acknowledge that wolves kill livestock, and they use donations to compensate ranchers for any losses. This money will also be used to field press functions, tours and releases regarding these issues.
Adopt a wolf. The Defenders of Wildlife have opened a way for you to adopt a wolf (or wolves), where the proceeds will go toward your wolf and the organizations continued efforts. Your adoption will not only support the Defenders of Wildlife's work, but will go toward efforts to keep wolves together in packs and fight against aerial wolf shooting. Upon adoption you can choose to be sent a furry toy wolf that comes with a certificate of your adoption as well as a photo of the wolf you have adopted.
Spread the word. Another way you can help to fight against the killing in Alaska is to spread the word. Promote the Wildlife Guardians or Defenders of Wildlife on your blog, website, Twitter, Facebook and other social networks to spread the word and help gather petitioners.
