Do beagles have back dew claws?
Beagles can have back dew claws, but they are not as common as in some other breeds. Back dew claws are an extra digit that is located on the back of the leg, above the paw. They are thought to be a vestigial remnant of a thumb or big toe that was once present in early canids. While they are not essential for a dog's survival, they can be useful for climbing and grasping objects.
