Wolves are born blind, deaf, and toothless. They weigh only about 1 pound and are about 10 inches long. Their mother will stay with them constantly for the first few weeks, nursing them and keeping them warm.
2. Early growth
During their first few months of life, wolves grow rapidly. They will gain weight and grow at a rate of about 1 inch per week. They will also start to develop their senses and teeth. By the time they are 6 months old, they will be able to see, hear, and smell like adults. They will also have all their adult teeth.
3. Adolescence
Wolves reach adolescence at around 1 year old. At this stage, they will start to develop their secondary sexual characteristics, such as a larger mane in males and a larger vulva in females. They will also start to establish their dominance within the pack.
4. Adulthood
Wolves are considered to be adults when they are around 2 years old. At this stage, they are fully grown and have reached their adult weight. They will continue to live in the pack and will play a role in raising the next generation of wolves.
5. Old age
Wolves can live for up to 13 years in the wild. In captivity, they have been known to live for up to 20 years. As they get older, wolves will slow down and may start to lose their teeth. They may also develop health problems, such as arthritis. However, if they are well cared for, wolves can still enjoy a long and happy life.
