Do golden retrievers have major predators like wolves?

Golden retrievers, like most domestic dog breeds, do not have major predators in their natural environment. They were initially bred as companion dogs and hunting companions, so they don't typically encounter predators that would pose a significant threat in their daily life.

In the wild, wolves mainly hunt large herbivores such as deer and elk. Dogs and wolves have a common ancestor and share a close relationship, so wolves do not typically consider dogs as prey. However, in rare instances, wolves may view a lone or vulnerable dog as a potential food source.

Nonetheless, golden retrievers and other domestic dogs are usually kept as pets in households and are not exposed to the same risks and predators that wild dogs or wolves might face in their natural habitats.
