Things You'll Need
- Pedigree forms
- Information on parents and grandparents
Instructions
Purchase your Mini Rex Rabbit from a reputable breeder. The law does not require pedigrees, but you always should ask for them anyway. If your breeder keeps pedigrees, request a copy from him. Most breeders use software designed to easily track and print the pedigrees of individual rabbits they have bred. Some may charge you a small fee to print the paperwork for you, and this method is by far the simplest way to get your rabbit's pedigree.
Print your Mini Rex Rabbit pedigree forms. If you did not request the pedigree information upon purchasing your rabbit from the breeder or if that paperwork has been misplaced or damaged, you can print your own pedigree forms and fill them out yourself. Several websites offer example layouts of pedigree papers.
Contact your Mini Rex Rabbit breeder. Now that you have the pedigree papers printed, you need to ask your breeder to provide you with the information required by the papers, if you haven't obtained it already. You will need a variety of information: names, registration number, ear tattoo number, color, weight, and date of birth, as well as grand champion number -- when such applies --and winnings. Record this information for your rabbit and its parents, grandparents and great grandparents on both sides of the family tree.
Sign and date at the bottom and you have your Mini Rex Rabbit's pedigree.
