Which is the fattest land animal?

The fattest land animal is the white rhinoceros (also known as the square-lipped rhinoceros). While the African bush elephant is the heaviest land animal, the white rhinoceros is the fattest due to its massive body mass and thick layer of subcutaneous fat.

Here's why:

* Size: White rhinos can weigh up to 6,000 pounds (2,700 kg), which is a considerable amount of weight.

* Fat reserves: They have a significant layer of fat beneath their skin, which provides insulation and energy reserves.

* Diet: They graze on a diet of grass, which is less calorically dense than the foliage consumed by elephants, requiring them to accumulate more fat for survival.

Although the African bush elephant is heavier, it's not as "fat" as the white rhino because a greater proportion of its weight comes from muscle and bone.
