Things You'll Need
- Sponge
- Soap
- Fertilized eggs
Instructions
Wash the incubator base thoroughly and leave in the sun to dry for a few hours. Use the sponge, soap and water for this task and take care to clean the corners. There should be no debris at all left in the bottom of the incubator when you have finished.
Assemble the incubator together on a flat, dry surface near to an electrical source. Put the hardware cloth in the base of the incubator and the thermostats on top of the cloth. Insert the Styrofoam into the top of the base. All of these things will have been provided when you bought the incubator.
Plug the incubator in and set the temperature.
Add about 1/2 cup of water to the base of the incubator and monitor for at least 24 hours to make sure that it is maintaining a constant temperature.
Mark the eggs with the pencil. Put an X on one side and an O on the other. Put the eggs in the incubator with the X side up.
Turn the eggs at least three times a day using the X and O markings to help you know which ones you have already turned.
Allow the eggs to hatch naturally.
