There are many places available on the internet that offer online chick ordering. Most of these places are farms or large hatcheries that offer internet ordering and shipping of their livestock. It is wise to check into the hatchery's reputation prior to making a purchase, in order to eliminate the risk of a bad purchase as much as possible. Depending on the distance of the hatchery from your location, and the size of your order, you may even elect to visit the hatchery to make sure that the animals that they raise are well cared for and healthy.
No matter what you order, be it ducks, geese, emus, chickens or turkeys, know that because you are ordering your chicks online, you will be unable to choose your exact chick, or to examine them personally to make sure that they are healthy. Nearly all chick hatcheries carefully check their livestock prior to sending them to their customers in order to ensure that the chicks you receive are happy and healthy. Once you find a hatchery that you want to use, select the varieties and quantities of chicks that you want, and then pay for your order online with your credit card. Then, pace back and forth like a nervous parent.
You will also need to input your shipping information to complete your transaction. Be sure that you monitor the status of your order carefully, to see if it's scheduled to be delivered on time, or if there are delays. Ensure that you will be available to pick up your order once it has been delivered from the hatchery. The post office will usually call you by phone to notify you that you have a bunch of noisy, peeping chicks to pick up! Once you pick up your chicks, inspect them carefully to ensure that they have all arrived safely. If you have any difficulties, contact the hatchery immediately and notify them. If the chicks have arrived safely, as they almost always do, enjoy your new chicks.
