How to Palpate a Doe Rabbit

Palpating a doe rabbit will help you determine whether the rabbit is pregnant or not. While it is unwise to rebreed unless you are certain that the doe is not pregnant, it can still be helpful to determine if she probably is or is not. Palpating can be done between 11 and 14 days after conception.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold your doe upside down on one arm, or lay her upside down on a table or across your legs.

    • 2

Place your hands between the doe's front legs.

    • 3

Apply very gentle pressure as you massage your way down the doe's body with your fingers on one side of her body and your thumbs on the other.

    • 4

With practice you should be able to feel bulges the size of small grapes - these are the kits.
