How old do white tailed deer have to be babies?

White-tailed deer are considered babies, or fawns, until they reach the age of one year. During their first year of life, fawns rely heavily on their mothers for food, protection, and guidance. They typically stay close to their mothers and learn how to forage for food and avoid predators. As fawns grow older, they gradually become more independent and eventually disperse to find their own territories.
