Is it possible for a cow to give birth one calf and after week or so another calf?

It is rare but not impossible for a cow to give birth to two calves, known as superfetation, if the cow has conceived twice, several weeks apart.

Under these circumstances, the first calf will be born prematurely, while the second calf is carried to full term.

However, it's more likely that the cow is giving birth to twins when there are two calves.
