When do male rabbits become fertile?
Rabbits reach sexual maturity at different ages depending on the breed. Generally, smaller breeds reach maturity earlier than larger breeds. Most male rabbits become fertile between 4 and 6 months of age, however, some breeds may not become fertile until they are 8 to 12 months old. It is important to note that even before reaching sexual maturity, male rabbits can still engage in mating behavior but will be infertile. Therefore, to prevent unplanned pregnancies, it's crucial to keep male and female rabbits separated if you do not intend to breed them.
