Instructions
Place the incubator in an area that has a consistent temperature of approximately 70 F. Do not set the incubator in drafty areas, or in direct sunlight.
Plug the incubator into a power source and turn the control knob clockwise. The red indicator light will on as the element begins to heat. Monitor the thermometer as the incubator heats, adjusting the knob until the desired temperature is established. Run the incubator for six to eight hours, then check the thermometer to confirm the temperature was maintained.
Place the wire screen that came with the incubator packaging in the bottom of the incubator, and lay the eggs you would like to hatch on the screen. Use a lead pencil to place a small "x" on one side of each egg, and an "o" on the other side to help identify when the eggs have been turned. Wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap before handling the eggs and avoid breathing on the eggs if you are ill.
Fill the rings in the bottom of the incubator with water to keep the eggs moist and remove one of the vent plugs on the top of the incubator. Place the thermometer on the top of the eggs and set the top of the incubator in place.
Turn the eggs two to three times per day. Use your palm to gently roll the eggs until they have been turned over. Stop turning the eggs three days prior to the anticipated hatching time. Remove chicks from the incubator when they hatch.Continue to run the incubator for up to a week beyond the normal hatch period as some chicks may hatch late.
Little Giant Still Air Incubator Instructions
The Little Giant Still Air Incubator is used to successfully hatch chicken eggs. The incubator uses an electric heating coil to maintain the proper incubation temperature for eggs that are placed in the unit. The temperature of the unit is adjustable and there is a venting system to allow fresh air to enter the incubator. The incubator also provides a moisture control device that supports the developing chick by maintaining a humidity level that prevents the shells from becoming dry.
